Join internationally celebrated quilt artist Ricky Tims for an immersive quilting retreat in the heart of the Ozarks. Set along the sparkling shores of Table Rock Lake, this experience blends bold technique, artistic courage, and joyful exploration — all wrapped in the warmth of creative community.
Lodging is at the beautiful Port of Kimberling Marina & Resort, where mornings shimmer with lake views and evenings wind down with sunset reflections across the water.
Daily workshop sessions are held less than half a mile away at the welcoming Kimberling Area Library. The spacious community room provides generous breathing room for each participant — light-filled, comfortable, and perfectly suited for five focused days of inspired quiltmaking.
The Experience
Monday, September 28 – Arrival & Welcome
We begin with setup and a relaxed Pizza Party kickoff Monday evening. Reconnect with friends, settle into your creative space, and feel the anticipation build for the week ahead.
Tuesday – Saturday – Immersive Workshop Days

Saturday Evening – A Grand Finale on the Lake
We conclude in spectacular style aboard the legendary
Showboat Branson Belle.

The Saturday Celebration Dinner will be prepared especially for you by Hugo Dos Santos.

Plan not to embrace the Ozarks, a place with a rhythm all its own. Limestone bluffs rise above the clear blue waters of Table Rock Lake, hardwood forests begin to soften into early autumn color, and mornings often arrive with mist hovering quietly over the lake like a whispered welcome. The pace slows here. The air feels different. Ideas seem to stretch a little farther.
Just minutes away, Branson offers live entertainment, music venues, theaters, charming shops, and endless dining options. Explore nearby nature parks and scenic overlooks, take a lake cruise, hike wooded trails, or simply enjoy coffee by the marina while watching the water wake up.
The beauty of the Ozarks doesn’t just frame this retreat — it becomes part of the creative experience. This is a place where you can exhale, reset, and let inspiration arrive naturally.
If you are flying to join us, the most convenient airport is Springfield-Branson National Airport, located just about an hour from Kimberling City. It offers a comfortable and scenic drive into the Ozarks and is the most practical choice for reaching the retreat with ease.
Another option is Northwest Arkansas National Airport, serving the Bentonville and Fayetteville area. While it offers additional flight routes, it is approximately two hours away by car. Either choice brings you into beautiful countryside, where rolling hills and winding roads gently usher you toward Table Rock Lake.
A rental car is recommended so you can move comfortably between the airport, your lodging, and perhaps explore a bit of the Ozarks during your stay.
