Twelve Enchanting Nights of Christmas Magic, Culture & Quilts in the Heart of Historic Europe

December 8–20, 2026

Hosted by Ricky Tims
and Hugo Dos Santos

Winter transforms Europe into something quietly extraordinary. In December, candlelight softens stone façades, church bells echo through narrow streets, and centuries-old traditions feel intimate rather than staged. This journey is designed to capture that feeling — not by racing from highlight to highlight, but by lingering where beauty, craft, culture, and seasonal magic naturally converge.

This tour is designed to feel seamless and cared for: a richly curated array of memorable experiences (guides, admissions, and planned highlights), paired with enough freedom to create your own perfect moments — whether that means an evening concert, a cozy café, or something special like a dinner cruise on the Vltava in Prague. You never have to think about “hidden extras” along the way. Any truly personal add-ons—like optional dinners, extra concerts, or private outings—remain entirely at your discretion.

Prague — A Baroque Beginning

Day 1 – Tuesday, December 8 | Arrival in Prague

Arrive in Prague and settle into the elegant Falkensteiner Hotel Prague, ideally located for exploring the Old Town on foot. Transfers from the airport are arranged with a meet-and-greet, and check-in is coordinated based on arrivals.

Depending on your timing and energy, enjoy a gentle first stroll through streets glowing with holiday light — the kind of evening where even the air feels historic.

Tonight, we ease into the journey with a welcome dinner (final restaurant details to be confirmed). If you’d like to begin with something especially magical, an optional alternative may be available: an Advent Mozart Dinner in the Boccaccio Hall — a candlelit, classical, deeply “Prague” way to start.

Day 2 – Wednesday, December 9 | Prague: History, Markets & Music

After breakfast, we step into Prague’s storybook heart. This morning features a historic Old Town sightseeing tour with a local guide—a wonderful orientation to the city’s layered architecture, legends, and living traditions. Expect classic Prague moments such as Charles Bridge and Old Town Square, home to the famed Prague Astronomical Clock, a medieval marvel that has marked time for centuries.

Lunch is included today (two courses + one beverage), and the afternoon opens into free time—perfect for Christmas markets, historic cafés, photography, and wandering at your own pace.

This evening is yours. If you’re drawn to music, optional concerts may be available in extraordinary venues such as the Mirror Chapel of the Klementinum or the Rudolfinum (programs vary and may be finalized closer to departure).

Day 3 – Thursday, December 10 | Prague at Leisure

A slower day to enjoy Prague more personally—revisiting favorite corners or discovering quieter ones. For those who wish, this is an ideal day for Prague CastleGolden Lane, or the Museum of Decorative Arts, all at your own rhythm.

Meals are on your own today, giving you complete freedom to create the kind of Prague day you love—unhurried, atmospheric, and exactly your own.

Nuremberg & Rothenburg ob der Tauber — Timeless Traditions
Day 4 – Friday, December 11 | Prague to Nuremberg

After breakfast, we load luggage and depart by coach toward Nuremberg. The journey brings a gradual shift—Prague’s Baroque glow giving way to Bavaria’s old-world stone and Christmas-market warmth.

Lunch is included en route (two courses + one beverage). On arrival, we enjoy a brief sightseeing orientation by coach, then choose a cultural highlight such as Nuremberg Castle or the Dürer museum (subject to final timing and admissions).

We check in to Hotel Karl August, a modern, design-forward stay tucked into the spirit of the old town. Evening is free—perfect for your first browse through the city’s celebrated Christmas market. Dinner is on your own.

Day 5 – Saturday, December 12 | Rothenburg ob der Tauber

After breakfast, we take a day trip into one of Germany’s most beautifully preserved medieval towns. Rothenburg is pure storybook—fortified walls, half-timbered houses, and lanes that feel astonishingly untouched by time.

We enjoy sightseeing through the old town and its Christmas market, with lunch included (two courses + one beverage). Free time follows for wandering, photographs, or a visit to the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas Museum for those who wish. Return to Nuremberg later in the day; evening and dinner are at leisure.

Alsace — An Intimate Home Base in Ensisheim
Day 6 – Sunday, December 13 | Nuremberg to Colmar to Ensisheim

This morning we depart Nuremberg and begin the beautiful transition into Alsace. We pause in Colmar—glowing at Christmas with lights, garlands, and intimate market squares—ideal for a festive stroll through the historic center. Lunch is planned here (two courses + one beverage; final restaurant details to be confirmed).

In the afternoon, we continue to Ensisheim and check in to Domaine du Moulin, a beautifully restored historic mill set within a peaceful park-like setting. More than simply a hotel, Domaine du Moulin is designed for comfort and renewal. Guests may wish to take advantage of the hotel’s wellness and spa facilities, which include an indoor pool, sauna, hammam, and relaxation areas—an ideal way to unwind after a day of travel. Others may prefer a quiet walk on the grounds, time by the water, or simply settling in as the pace of the journey gently slows.

Tonight we gather for a five-course dinner at the hotel (beverages pay on site), easing fully into our Alsatian home base and the restorative rhythm of the days ahead.

Strasbourg & Village Charm — Alsace at Its Most Enchanting

Day 7 – Monday, December 14 | Strasbourg & Ensisheim

After breakfast, we travel to Strasbourg (about 1.5 hours) for a day of culture, cathedral grandeur, canals, and one of Europe’s most atmospheric Christmas markets. We visit the Münster (cathedral), and for those who want a signature moment, the Astronomical Clock figure show is scheduled for 12:30 (advance booking required).

Lunch is on your own today—perfect for choosing something cozy and local.

On the return, we stop in Eguisheim, often called one of the most beautiful villages in France, for a short, lovely taste of small-town Alsace at Christmas. Evening is free back in Ensisheim; dinner is on your own.

Parc de Wesserling — Textile Heritage & Château History

Day 8 – Tuesday, December 15 | Parc de Wesserling

Today turns toward creativity and heritage. We travel to Wesserling (about 40–50 minutes) to visit the Château des Manufacturiers, with a guided tour. The site is rich with textile history—an inspiring counterpoint to the holiday bustle of markets and city squares.

Lunch is on your own, leaving you time to linger. If possible, the park visit may also be available (details to be confirmed).

We return to Ensisheim and gather for another five-course dinner at the hotel (beverages pay on site). Afterwards, enjoy a special quilting lecture (details to be confirmed) — a creative evening that gently ties our seasonal journey back to craft and story.

Lake Constance — Where Borders Blur

Day 9 – Wednesday, December 16 | Ensisheim to Freiburg im Breisgau to Konstanz

Luggage loads in the morning as we depart eastward, stopping in Freiburg im Breisgau—a city that feels both historic and effortlessly livable. You’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch (two courses + one beverage). If timing allows, an organ concert at noon in the cathedral may be possible (to be confirmed).

In the afternoon, we continue to Konstanz, arriving at the shores of Lake Constance, where borders soften into water, sky, and distant peaks. We check in to Hotel HARBR. Evening and dinner are at leisure.

Discovery & Reflection by the Lake

Day 10 – Thursday, December 17 | Konstanz at Leisure & Mainau Island

A full free day—no scheduled group activities—so you can enjoy Konstanz entirely at your own pace. Stroll the old town, browse museums, walk the lakeside paths, or simply linger with coffee and conversation.

From 17:00, those who wish may visit the Christmas Garden on Mainau Island—a luminous seasonal experience that feels like stepping into a winter lantern festival among historic gardens. Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

Neuschwanstein — A Fairy-Tale Dream

Day 11 – Friday, December 18 | Konstanz to Munich via Neuschwanstein Castle

After breakfast, we load luggage and depart for Munich. En route, we stop for a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle (entry slot to be confirmed). It’s the kind of place that seems created from imagination—dramatic, romantic, and especially magical in winter.

Lunch is included along the way (two courses + one beverage). If time allows, we may also visit the UNESCO-listed Wieskirche, one of Bavaria’s most breathtaking churches, a serene and radiant stop when the schedule permits.

We arrive in Munich in the afternoon and check in to Livinghotel Das Viktualienmarkt. Evening is free—or, if desired, we can venture together into the Christmas market at Marienplatz. Dinner is on your own.

Munich — A Festive Finale

Day 12 – Saturday, December 19 | Munich & Farewell Celebration

After breakfast, we enjoy a guided walking sightseeing tour through Munich’s historic heart, followed by a nativity exhibition at the National Museum. The afternoon is free—perfect for final market visits, gift-finding, museums, or simply a last, slow European coffee.

This evening, we gather for a beautiful farewell: a three-course Farewell Dinner at Spatenhaus an der Oper, with beverages included—celebrating shared experiences, friendships formed, and the quiet magic of wintertime Europe.

After breakfast, airport transfers are arranged for return flights home.
