Join us in November for this fun, interactive class. Learn Ricky's improvisational quilting method and experience several of Hugo's delightful and tasty cooking recipes.
Class starts November 7th
Ricky has been known as The Caveman Quilter for many years. The moniker is associated with quilting freely… without rulers, measurements, and without using quarter-inch seams. Of course there are exceptions. Cavemen were known for “the wheel” (insert rotary cutter). Essentially, this class is about creating improvisational patchwork and learning the methods and technique that enable quilters to work without a pre-planned pattern.
People have been asking for Ricky and Hugo to combine quilting and cooking – and this class will fulfill that request. Ricky will lead five quilting sessions and Hugo will present five cooking lessons. These will occur on separate days (see schedule below). Hugo will be sharing a wide range of cooking recipes, tips, tricks, and ideas for presentation.
The Caveman Quilting class begins with basic exercises using Ricky’s methods and will also focus on safety. The group will progress to making a small tulip project known as Chantelle. The subsequent lessons will give guidance on border options. This class is a prerequisite to Ricky’s Improvisational Patchwork class that will be offered in 2024.
By learning the processes Ricky shares, quilters will eventually be able to conceive ideas that they can implement using these improvisational methods. The project for this class will result in a relatively small wall quilt which can easily be completed during the timeframe. Students will be able to explore multiple variations and perhaps even create multiple projects.
Attendance and Interaction
All LIVE interactive sessions are recorded and will be available to view or reviewed anytime – forever. The classes are interactive. Ricky will be sharing links for photo sharing and provide guidance and input for each quilter. Hugo will be available to answer questions regarding the cooking side of the class.
Schedule and Timing Conflicts
If you cannot make the LIVE presentation, it will be posted within a couple of hours and you can watch anytime after that. We realize folks around the world live in greatly diverse time zones and meeting LIVE might be inconvenient so the video recordings will enable anyone around the world to participate.
